Um bounce é a resposta automática que um endereço de email dá quando não consegue receber um determinado email. Normalmente é sinal de que esse endereço não existe ou já não está em uso, mas há muitas outras razões.
Os bounces têm um código numérico que ajuda a identificar o motivo da falha de entrega. Aqui está a descrição técnica dos mais frequentes, separados por categorias:
Endereço de email inválido ou inexistente
421 Service not available, closing transmission channel
450 Requested mail action not taken: mailbox unavailable (e.g., mailbox busy)
451 Requested action aborted: error in processing
550 User’s mailbox was unavailable (such as not found)
551 The recipient is not local to the server.
553 The command was aborted because the mailbox name is invalid.
